Sandy I can see the progresion through the areas of your plan and the refining of your ideas. I think the ranking project is valid and useful.

The process of constructing a project using the 'Seeing Reason Tool' as a teacher and then actually testing out the tool was a very useful exercise. I was trying to use the tool in context of my unit plan. However, initially the way I had framed the question did not best allow students to see the interaction between each of the factors, but really just the effect of various factors on one factor. Considering the results, I reworded the question to allow more depth to the thinking involved. Therefore, with the refinement of the questIon, I would keep the tool as part of unit.
This tool does require students to think more deeply about the aspects of the topic and particularly using 'analysis' from the Blooms Taxonmy.
